The children in reception have really taken our story of 'The Gingerbread Man' in their own direction this week. Following the escape of The Gingerbread Girl from all four classes, the children hung up missing posters and set traps to try and catch her. Little did they know that she would appear in Mr Tavener's celebration assembly today - how she got there we will never know!
Somehow alongside all of the excitement this week the children have also written labels for the gingerbread man, measured the length of playdough snakes using non-standard measures and started to learn about the seasonal changes in winter. What a busy 4 days!
Next week we will be looking at and writing recipes and ingredients to make out own gingerbread men. We will also be learning how to use the part-whole model to find number bonds to 5.
