We started this half term with an exciting (and rather windy!) week in reception. We shared the story of 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes' and had some really thought provoking discussions about whether the children thought Mr Wolf was a good character or not. Of course it only seemed right to make our own pancakes! This will help the children when it comes to writing their instructions of how to cook a pancake next week. Don't forget that next Tuesday is shrove Tuesday so do ask your children which ingredients they will need if you are making pancakes at home. 

In maths we have focussed on numbers 9 and 10 - recognising the numeral, matching it to the correct amount and finding different ways to make the numbers. We have been learning to order and write numbers too. 

We have also had our first yoga lesson with a fantastic instruction who will be with us for the whole half term. The children enjoyed learning different yoga poses through story and their imagination. 

To finish the week we have been learning about primary and secondary colours and the children have really enjoyed experimenting with colour mixing. 

Next week is world book week. Don't forget that the children can come dressed as a character from a book on Thursday.
